Some of the most meaningful things we can do together take only a couple of hours. On Sunday, October 11 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Unity Palo Alto is gathering in the YES Hall to assemble weekend snack packs for local school children in East Palo Alto. In partnership with the Ecumenical Hunger Program, we’ll spend 90 minutes doing something simple and real: making sure kids have something to eat when school is not in session.

The event runs assembly-line style, so everyone has a role and the work moves quickly. You’ll help pack bags with snacks and supplies, and if the spirit moves you, you can write a short personal note to slip inside. Snacks and drinks will also be available for everyone who comes out to help.

This is a great opportunity for families, longtime members, and anyone looking for a simple, hands-on way to put their values into action. Children in East Palo Alto who might otherwise go without food on the weekends will be the direct beneficiaries of every bag we pack.

This event is free and open to everyone in the Unity Palo Alto community. RSVP online or sign up in the courtyard after Sunday service.
